CONTROLLING THE TORQUEBOX® PARKLOCK (P/L) SYSTEM

Because nearly every EV conversion is different, TTI does not supply a control mechanism with a P/L sale.

The P/L can be controlled with a mechanical shift cable or with an electric actuator.

We originally designed our P/L system around the Ford F-150 automatic transmission shifter using the stock Ford cable - part number - BL3Z-7E395-C. With very minor modification this cable worked great.

We simply cut the plastic off of the transmission end and thread the steel cable end to 5 mm thread. The mounting rod end, seen below, comes already attached to the P/L. A 5 mm nut should first be threaded onto the cable end and then thread on the supplied rod end, adjust accordingly and lock with nut.

If you prefer an electric actuator we recommend one from Thomson Linear Motion.

Ph# 815-568-8001, Part number - ET12174-SSCN1S

You can use any 12 or 24 volt actuator as long as it has at least 30 lbs. of pull and at least 1/2 inch travel.

You only need one ParkLock on your vehicle even if you have multiple motors.
